Spring dresses for women come in a variety of styles, fabrics, and prints. The most favorable fabrics for spring are usually breezy and lightweight. They offer a flowy, airy look. The most favorable print for spring comes as no surprise: florals.

Spring is synonymous for blooming flowers, in nature and in the fashion world. Regardless of fashion’s ever-changing personality, florals always find their way on spring runway shows. They are the perfect way for women to feel feminine and in season. The following women’s dress styles are popular for the spring season:

1. The wrap dress

This dress derives its name from the way the dress is tied or rather wrapped around to secure a closure on either the side or front of the dress. This style cinches the waist but can also be cumbersome to keep in place.

2. The sun dress

This dress is not actually a particular style, but it is the name given to dresses that start to appear in the warm weather. It implies a wearable, comfortable, casual fit.

3. The tea dress

On the other end of the spectrum is the tea dress, which by nature has a more elegant, proper appeal. It originated in the UK and now has a worldwide following.

4. The kimono style dress

Further east, we have a dress that was inspired by the Japanese kimono. The kimono style dress borrows some characteristics of the Japanese kimono but is made more wearable by shortening the sleeves, the length and doing without the obi.

5. The shirt dress/polo dress/T-shirt dress

These dress styles look just like shirts, polos, or T-shirts but with added length. The shirt dress is basically a button-down blouse made into a dress and usually nipped at the waist with a fabric belt.

Of course there are tons of spring dresses out on the market that don’t fall into any of the above categories. The key to achieve a spring look is to make sure you look and feel comfortable - like you just threw on the dress, tousled your hair, put on some shades and walked out of the door!
