Silk is a remarkable material, the textiles made of which have features close to those of your skin. Silk is soft and slick, it retains the moisture and doesn’t absorb heat. Those features make silk fabric perfect in summer as well as winter. Due to it’s unique features, it keeps your skin temperature at its own level, without getting hot or cold. As well as it is mild on a sensitive skin, it doesn’t irritate as it doesn’t absorb the moisture. Not only does the silk fabric look good, but it feels good as well.

Before coming to your hands a scarf is made by artist or manufactured in specialised garment factories. There are two major parts in the process of the making of silk scarves. Picking the material and painting. In factories this process is made automatic, the premade templates are printed on a silk.

Meanwhile the manual work of an artist is more thorough, the end result is of a higher quality and thus scarves made in this way are more expensive than scarves made in a factory. The manual process begins with picking a piece of silk fabric. The painting process may be different for each artist. Some artist have their premade stencils and prepared color paint which is applied through a stencil. Others paint directly on silk with the help of strings or other tools to form patterns.

The scarf is finished by letting it dry and for the paint to soak in to the silk, only then the final colors are seen.

Due to the nature of silk, the paint spreads equally on both sides of the fabric and retains equal richness of color on both sides. That’s one of many reasons why silk scarves are liked by women (and also men) to enrich their wardrobe for any season.

The modern process of manufacturing silk clothing and scarves in the same way allows to reduce the price of this kind of garment and makes it affordable to anyone. Silk, that could have ever been only in the hands of ancient emperors is now available to anyone. That is why silk women’s scarves is such a trend.
