The saying “If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is” comes in very well on the subject in matter. At the end of the day if you find an online store offering “designer clothes” at 50% off the normal retail price then the chances are they are going to be fake. The question is how do you spot that they are fake? Well there are 3 simple rules to go by which I have listed below: • The quality of material: Fake designer clothes will be made from a poorer quality of material so look closely at the detail of the item. You will notice anything from bad stitching, misspellings, offline brand names, and missing labels. If you are buying online then try and get yourself a close up of the image, a lot of websites allow you to zoom right in giving you the opportunity to inspect the garment. • The price: 90% of all fake designer clothes will be heavily reduced in price to get the buyers attention and make them believe they are buying something like a Ben Sherman shirt for half the price. Don’t be fooled by these price cuts, designer clothes are designer clothes for a reason. You are paying for the name and the quality of materials used so getting a genuine product that retails at £100 for £30 isn’t likely. • The location: Try and buy from the country your are in or a country that you know will be a reliable one for designer clothing. For example if you are from the UK buy from the UK, avoid most Asian countries because China, Japan, and Thailand produce cheap mass clothing made from low quality materials. All in all, if you want to buy designer clothing then don’t run the risk of being conned into paying money for a fake item. Buy your clothes from a respectable, well-known and reputable online store and you will get quality with a genuine discount.
