Over the years, we’ve become used to the ups and downs of clothing vogues. Trends come and go, and some garments that look as though they’ll be around forever often disappear from the shelves very suddenly. There always seems to be the ‘latest thing’ just around the corner, but it tends never to stay around for long. Thankfully, some things seem to be beyond the vagaries of the fashion industry. The Cashmere jacket is just such a garment. It’s always been in fashion, and it always will be. Sensationally stylish, and wonderfully warm, it’s a timeless piece of classic design, and has rightly become a favourite for millions of people. The wool, exquisitely soft to the touch, is obtained from the Cashmere goat. The fibres are graded according to various criteria, with the finest of all being sent to Scotland, where the very best are made into clothing that is rightly regarded as the pinnacle of sophistication and refinement. The long, double-breasted coat is sumptuously elegant, and features wide sleeves, high collars and ribbed trims. As with every type of Cashmere jacket, it’s beautifully styled, traditionally made and keeps the wearer as warm as toast. Every wardrobe really should have one. Simple yet stunningly good-looking, the tie neck coat has a scarf neckline. It can be worn tied or loose, and is available in a smooth or chunky knit. Whether long or short, it really is an eye-catching garment that will bring compliments whenever it’s worn. It goes well with all manner of outfits, and will be perfect for any occasion. For a more contemporary look, try a rather trendy Cashmere hoodie. It looks superb on any wearer, whether young or old, male or female. Plain colours can look exceptionally good, as can any of the panoply of patterns on the market. Diamonds, squares, circles, broad and narrow stripes are just some of the designs to be found. The classic Cashmere sports jacket is the ultimate in grandiose beauty. It can be worn for a formal occasion such as a wedding reception or a dinner party, with a shirt and tie or a smart blouse. It looks just as good over a plain t-shirt or a turtle-neck sweater for informal days out and trips to the theatre. The Cashmere jacket is such a versatile item; it’s available in a wide variety of lengths, from the sophisticated short-cut ladies’ classics, to full-length trench coats for men and women. Button- or zip-fastened, it comes in various collar styles and sizes, which enables the consumer to find the perfect garment to suit any mood and any event. Don’t be tempted by the cheaper, inferior jackets from the Far East; they use lesser quality fibres which won’t last a long time, and they’re unlikely to keep their shape and softness for years like the better, slightly more expensive, garments will. Specialist stores and websites are jam-packed with designs which are guaranteed to tempt the consumer. They’re tasteful, luscious and awe-inspiring, and will make the wearer feel special every time they don one of these fine garments. A cashmere jacket is a wonderful present for anyone. Cashmere is luxurious, stylish and suits any occasion. Posted January 28th, 2010 by Hannah.
