If there were ever three nations that should be treated as the holy trinity of the fashion world then they would be Italy, France and Belgium. Anthony Vaccarello is a product of just such a rich history as his inspirations trace their roots to these three revolutionary nations. He is a designer who was born in the country of Belgium, grew up Italy, and is based in Paris, France. The designer, as per his own admission, began designing at the tender age of only 10 years old and has, throughout his growing years, been influenced by major fashion stalwarts such as Helmut Newton and Gianni Versace. Furthermore, he was also exposed to the Italian fashion culture at a very young age by visits to fashion shows in Sicily.

In his younger years, he studied fashion at the highly renowned La Cambre school based in Brussels, Belgium. At completion, Anthony Vaccarello’s graduate collection was given the Grand Prix mode at the 2006 Hyeres Fashion Festival which also marked the entry of this rising star into the limelight and mainstream. Subsequent to being awarded such an award he was quickly picked up by Fendi, where he designed furs under the mentorship of Karl Lagerfield. However, as is the fate of most talented artists and designers, he decided to launch his own label soon after and has never looked back.

With his graduate collection he had shown unique and revolutionary daring with the results that he coaxed out of leather. Anthony Vaccarello’s recent collection, however, focuses on another highly evolved subject of statement jackets and body suits. The customary trademark of Anthony Vaccarello and the daring designs and concepts depicted in his S / S 10 collection clearly induce novel thinking in the fashion world. This collection is highlighted by the heavy lapels and collars which are further accentuated by delicately cut glass. In addition to this, this collection is also characterized by intricate folds and extensive ruching running all over the piece.

Anthony Vaccarello, who is still only 29, reveals that he constantly shuttles between Brussels and Paris. Furthermore, as per Anthony Vaccarello, his designs can best be described in three words, namely intricate, glamorous and intoxicating. Even so, the most interesting aspect of he is that every design that he creates is created with a specific category of women in mind. This woman, according to the designer himself, would be a strong individual woman who has a lot of baggage and is still able to go through life with her head held high. The future plans of him are as simple as his designs are complex. He aims at consistent growth for the next few years with a lot of tie ups.

Anthony Vaccarello’s designs and concepts are explicitly created to make an impression on the wearer whether they are worn in pairs or separately. This is specifically emphasized by the fact that while the fashion world was gushing and swooning over pastels and delicate textures, he decided to create something that was very different from it all.
